CARBON FOOTPRINT AWARENESS SURVEY- 11 AUGUST 2025
On 11th August 2025, Rajhans Vidyalaya conducted a “Carbon Footprint Survey” for Classes XI and XII under the Eco Club activity. The session began with a video presentation to help students understand the concept of carbon footprint, followed by a survey carried out during the zero period through Google Forms. The objective was to make students aware of their own carbon footprint based on their daily activities and habits.
A carbon footprint is the total amount of greenhouse gases, mainly carbon dioxide, released into the atmosphere as a result of human activities. It is influenced by everyday choices such as the mode of transport we use, the amount of electricity we consume, the kind of food we eat, and our general lifestyle practices. By calculating their carbon footprint, students were able to reflect on how their actions contribute to climate change. The activity also motivated them to think of simple, practical ways to reduce their footprint, such as conserving energy, minimizing waste, using eco-friendly transport, and adopting sustainable habits. It also encouraged them to become more mindful of their daily decisions and understand that even small changes, when practiced consistently, can have a significant positive impact on the environment. Moreover, the exercise helped students realize the importance of being responsible citizens who can contribute towards building a sustainable and healthier planet for future generations.
Overall, the survey created awareness among students about the importance of responsible living and inspired them to take small but significant steps towards a greener and more sustainable future. The initiative not only encouraged self- reflection but also sparked discussions among peers on adopting eco-friendly alternatives in their daily routines. Students realized that collective action, even though small individual efforts, can bring about a positive change for the environment.
The responses collected through the Google Form will be analysed and displayed as pie charts and other graphical representations on the school notice board to provide a clear and engaging overview of the survey findings.
“The Eco Club plans to take this activity forward through regular awareness drives, workshops, and campaigns to nurture environmentally conscious citizens.”
