KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS – 25th JULY, 2025
About This Activity
Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed in Rajhans Vidyalaya, on July 26th, commemorating the victory of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1999 Kargil War. The objective is to instill patriotism, gratitude, and awareness among students from Grades 5 to 10 by engaging them in age-appropriate, educational activities which also gave them an opportunity to showcase their creativity.
Grade 5 students participated in an activity titled "My Tribute to a Soldier." They drew and coloured a picture of a soldier and wrote five simple lines about a soldier's life, this helped foster an early sense of empathy and appreciation for the sacrifice of our brave soldiers.
Grade 6 students created a collage in their History notebooks. They used cut-outs of soldiers, the Indian flag, the Kargil Mountains, and patriotic slogans to artistically express their tribute. This activity encouraged visual storytelling and reinforced national pride.
For Grades 7 and 8, the focus shifted to research. Students presented information on two Kargil War heroes, such as Captain Vikram Batra or Captain Anuj Nayyar, completed it with their pictures and details of their bravery. This promoted research skills and helped them connect with the personal stories of valour.
Finally, Grades 9 and 10 worked in groups to create a large poster titled “Kargil Vijay Diwas – A Tribute” on colourful chart paper. This collaborative activity challenged them to combine historical knowledge with creative approach to produce a powerful visual message of remembrance and respect for our great heroes.
These activities were designed to go beyond a simple ceremony, providing a meaningful and hands-on experience for students to immerse themselves in THEIR aura of patriotism. By engaging in these tasks, the school ensured that the legacy of the Kargil heroes continued to inspire future generations with the values of courage, sacrifice, and patriotism.
