About This Activity

In accordance with CBSE Circular No. Acad-26/2025, issued on 14th May 2025, Rajhans  Vidyalaya undertook a special initiative to educate students about the risks associated with  excessive sugar intake. As advised by the Central Board of Secondary Education and the  National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), the school has set up a  'Sugar Board' on campus to spread awareness and promote healthier dietary choices.

To launch the initiative, a special school assembly was organized on 5th June 2025 for  students of Classes V to XII. The presentation began with an interactive question to engage  students: “Raise your hand if you love chocolates, cookies, or fizzy drinks!” This was  followed by a lively and informative speech highlighting how sugar, though common in  sweets and snacks, can be hidden in unexpected items like ketchup and juices. The speaker  explained the adverse effects of high sugar consumption, such as energy crashes, poor  concentration, mood swings, weight gain, and dental problems.

The assembly emphasized simple, practical tips for students to make smarter food choices.  These included replacing sodas with water or lemon water, choosing fruits over packaged  sweets, limiting the intake of chips and biscuits, and maintaining oral hygiene. The session  concluded with the message:‘Sugar isn’t bad — but too much of it is. Let’s not make it a  habit. Eat smart, think sharp, stay active — and let your brain and body thank you!’

In compliance with CBSE directives, a 'Sugar Board' was thoughtfully designed and  displayed prominently on campus. The board featured:

• Recommended daily sugar intake limits

• Sugar content in popular snacks and drinks

• Health risks of high sugar consumption

• Healthy dessert alternatives like dates, fruits, and jaggery-based treats

• Eye-catching slogan: ‘Sugar — A Treat, Not a Habit! - Choose Health Over  Cravings!

Overall, the activity successfully met the objectives laid out in the CBSE circular. It created  strong visual and verbal awareness among students about limiting sugar intake and embracing  a balanced diet, fostering long-term healthy habits.
