INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY-21 JUNE 2024
"Yoga is a gateway to happiness and a secret to a healthy mind!"
International Yoga Day was celebrated at Rajhans Vidyalaya with great fervor and enthusiasm. The day started with a yoga session for all the teachers, where the yoga expert Ms. Geeta Patil taught various yoga postures for overall well-being. This was followed by a speech from our yoga teacher, Ms. Pramila.
PRIMARY SECTION
Yoga brings the body and mind together and is built on three main elements: movement, breathing, and meditation. Yoga has many physical and mental health benefits, including improved posture, flexibility, strength, balance, and body awareness. Therefore, it is very important to inculcate the practice of yoga among our students.
Music can help with emotional expression, aesthetic enjoyment, entertainment, and physical response. Singing and musical stories can help children with vocabulary and reading skills, understanding lyrics, and wordplay. It also helps to reduce anxiety and pain.
On June 21, 2024, International Yoga Day and World Music Day were celebrated with great enthusiasm at Rajhans Vidyalaya (Primary section). Keeping in mind the benefits of yoga and music, children were encouraged to participate and experience the importance of this day. Both activities helped the students feel part of the group.
This celebration was a global event dedicated to promoting the practice of yoga and music among our students. It was well planned and organized by the primary teachers.
SECONDARY SECTION
Students from Grade V to X participated in various activities based on the theme of yoga, such as quizzes, coloring, speeches on the importance of yoga, and essay writing. They watched videos highlighting the importance of yoga and meditation. Students practiced 'asanas' and learned their significance in day-to-day life.
SENIOR SECONDARY SECTION
International Yoga Day aims to help youth and children understand the importance of yoga in their lives, teaching them how to maintain harmony between body and mind. As part of the celebrations, a "Yoga for Healthy Lifestyle" competition was organized for senior secondary students on Saturday, June 29th, 2024, during school hours.
An elimination round in the form of a quiz was held on June 28th, 2024, Friday. The selected students were asked to perform various yoga asanas on Saturday. Winners were chosen based on their performance in executing the yoga asanas.
Overall, Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm.
