Van Mahotsav Celebration on 4th July 2024
Van Mahotsav is known as the tree-planting festival. This festival is celebrated in the first week of July every year in India to raise awareness about the importance of trees in our lives. This great initiative was started by K.M. Munshi in 1950, who was the Union Minister of Agriculture and Food.
The day was celebrated at Rajhans Vidyalaya Primary Section with great enthusiasm. A teacher gave a speech about the benefits of trees, the importance of protecting them, and the harms caused by deforestation. Students wore garlands made of paper leaves and took a pledge to protect existing trees and plant more. They also sang a song dedicated to Van Mahotsav.
To culminate the event, a sapling was planted by our school Principal, Mrs. Ritu Dubey, and some teachers in the presence of the fourth grade students. The students cheered this moment with loud applause.
