Parent Orientation Sessions for Std. V to X

The Orientation Programme for the academic year 2025–26 was successfully conducted at Rajhans Vidyalaya for the parents of Standards V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X over three days—26th, 27th, and 28th March 2025.
The sessions were held separately for each grade to ensure focussed communication and clarity of expectations. The event was graced by the presence of Mrs. Ritu Dubey, Principal, Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan, Vice Principal, Supervisor, along with the dedicated team of teachers and enthusiastic parents.
Each session commenced with a warm welcome emphasizing the importance of a strong school-home partnership and a consistent academic approach to ensure the all-round development of every child. A comprehensive presentation followed, highlighting the vision of the school, core values, and key changes for the upcoming academic year.
One of the key announcements made during the orientation was regarding the change in school timings, effective from the new session. The Late Coming Policy was also re-emphasized and explained. In addition, it was made clear that attendance at Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) would now be mandatory, with active parent involvement being essential to a child’s success.
The school also reiterated that students must adhere strictly to the prescribed uniform specifications, maintaining a neat and disciplined appearance at all times.
The school encouraged the use of the MICM App as the official channel of communication between parents and teachers. All-important updates including homework, timetables, circulars, and examination results will now be shared through the app. Parents were requested to check the app regularly for a smooth and transparent flow of information.
A new policy regarding birthday celebrations was also shared with the parents. In order to maintain simplicity and uniformity, birthdays would now be celebrated in a modest manner, allowing students to distribute only toffees—extravagant celebrations, cakes, or return gifts would not be permitted.
The session further included a detailed explanation of the Evaluation System for each standard. Parents were given clarity on the marks weightage allotted to Multiple Assessments, Periodic Tests, Subject Enrichment Activities, Portfolios, Notebook Submission, Half-Yearly and Final/Std.X-Prelim Exams. The Co-Scholastic Grading System—covering areas such as discipline, attitude, and participation—was also explained thoroughly.
Subject-wise overviews were provided, where Heads of Departments (HODs) elaborated on the nuances of their respective subjects. They discussed the core learning objectives, skills to be developed, and expectations from students. The HODs also guided parents on how they could support their children at home—be it reading habits, daily practice, vocabulary building, or application-based learning.
The sessions concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where parents raised thoughtful queries and received satisfactory responses from the school authorities, helping to address their concerns.
The Orientation Programme set a purposeful tone for the year ahead, reaffirming the partnership between parents, teachers, and students in achieving shared educational goals.
