INDEPENDENCE DAY 2023-24
As we celebrated India’s 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023 it was a moment to reflect on our incredible journey as a nation. We’re celebrating the spirit that has shaped our diverse land into a thriving democracy. This day is a tribute to the sacrifices of our ancestors and a reminder of the ideals that bring us together to renew our commitment to a future filled with unity, growth, and prosperity. We celebrated this important event by honoring our past while embracing the promises of tomorrow.
Our School Rajhans Vidyalaya, observed this Independence Day with dignity, honour and grandeur. All the teachers, students, prefectorial council and scouts & guides were assembled in the Basketball court to celebrate this day. Mr. Vaibhav Sudhakar Patil, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Mumbai unit was invited as the chief guest for the event and was felicitated by Master Arush from Scouts & Guide unit. In the presence of a gleeful gathering, the National Flag was hoisted by the chief guest to which we all saluted the flag and sang the National Anthem together.
The day is doubly significant in Rajhans as every year the school also conducts the investiture ceremony by inducting the newly elected members to the Students’ Council to encourage and kindle leadership qualities in our young prodigies.
Leaders are not born but are made by their experiences in life. To inculcate the leadership qualities among the students the prefectorial board was formed after interview and brain storming sessions. This year, along with the prefectorial council there is an addition of new positions namely the Creative Board & Mentors. The Newly elected prefectorial Council, Creative Board and Mentors were felicitated with their badges and sash by the chief guest. The proud parents’ happiness knew no bounds when badges and sashes were conferred on the newly elected Students’ Council members. A proud moment for all of them, indeed!
Then followed the Cultural Programmes where students showcased their love for the country. The choir performed a classical patriotic song in their melodious voice by playing the instruments. There was a patriotic dance performance by the young ones and an inspiring speech by Mr. Arnab Sikdar & Ms. Maanya Wahal that awakened everyone’s feelings towards the Mother Land. The cultural programmes expressed the patriotic zeal of the young minds. The ceremony culminated with a vote of thanks by Former School Captain Ms. Samyogita Mishra.
Our sincere gratitude to our Principal Mrs. Kala Gangadharan for her unwavering support throughout the event. We would also like to thank the Vice Principal Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan, the Co-ordinators, Supervisor & Management for all the help and support given to us whenever required. Indeed, it was a day of joy, love and respect for we Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.
In the words of Mahatma Gandhi, “The future depends on what we do in the present!” So, let’s pledge to make ourselves fair-minded, fearless and faithful.
Jai Hind!!!
