“Yoga is the dance of every cell with the music of every breath that creates inner serenity and harmony.”

In keeping with this spirit, Rajhans Vidyalaya joyfully celebrated International Yoga Day 2025 with a series of meaningful and enriching activities.

The International Yoga Day is also known as Summer Solstice aka Longest Day of the year, following its declaration by the United Nations in 2014. The idea was proposed by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing yoga’s ancient roots in India and its benefits for physical and mental well-being.

The Primary section organized a special program on 20th June 2025 to spread awareness about the benefits of Yoga and to promote a healthy lifestyle amongst students and staff.

The celebration began with a brief introduction to the theme of Yoga Day by our Supervisor Mrs. Bidisha Moulik. Students from Grade 4 spoke on the importance of Yoga for students and how International Yoga Day was started by Shri Narendra Modi.

Students from Grade 1 to 4 demonstrated different yoga asanas under the guidance of PE teacher during the morning assembly. The students were then given various outlines on the yoga theme for colouring. The Yoga Day celebration was a great success and helped instill values of a healthy lifestyle, mindfulness and self-discipline in the young minds of our students.

On the same day “International Music Day” was celebrated. The Music Sir highlighted the universal language of music that connects hearts and spreads joy. Grade 4 students spoke about the importance of music and the history related to it. The program ended with a classical performance by a student which created an atmosphere of unity and harmony.

“If you learn to use your body like an instrument, it is the most fantastic and powerful instrument on the planet. Yoga is about realizing this.” - Sadhguru

The International Yoga Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and creativity at Rajhans Vidyalaya on 20th June, 2025, across Grades 5 to 10. Grade 5 students showcased their understanding of yoga through a vibrant Yoga Collage Making activity, beautifully highlighting various asanas and their benefits. Grade 6 presented a Yoga Display in the Art Room, integrating artistic expression with wellness practices. Grade 7 students participated in an Essay Writing competition on the theme "Yoga for Well-being," expressing insightful thoughts on the importance of yoga in daily life. Grade 8 took part in Poster Making, producing visually appealing and informative posters. Grade 9 students created catchy and meaningful Slogans, while Grade 10 designed impactful Logos promoting yoga awareness. The celebrations not only emphasized the physical and mental benefits of yoga but also fostered creativity and awareness among students. It was a holistic event promoting the spirit of harmony and health through diverse and engaging activities.

As a prelude to the celebration, a Poster Making Competition was organised on 17th June 2025 for students of Grades XI and XII. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with students expressing the essence of yoga through vibrant artwork, thought-provoking messages, and creative designs. The competition not only fostered artistic expression but also deepened awareness of the significance of yoga in maintaining a healthy and balanced life. The posters reflected creativity, insight, and the positive impact of yoga on both mind and body.

Following this, a Mass Yoga Demonstration was conducted on 19th June 2025, with students and teachers participating in unison. The session included a series of yoga postures, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques, led by Mrs. Pramila Dubey. The asanas demonstrated included:

Tadasana (Mountain Pose)

Virabhadrasana I, II, III (Warrior Poses)

Utthita Trikonasana (Extended Triangle Pose)

Titli Asana (Butterfly Pose)

Utkatasana (Chair Pose)

Kapalbhati Pranayama

Bhastrika Pranayama

It was a powerful display of unity, discipline, and wellness.

The primary objective of the celebration was to promote the value of yoga in everyday life, encouraging students to maintain physical fitness, emotional balance, and inner peace. These activities helped instil a sense of mindfulness and holistic well-being within the school community.

The event was a resounding success, leaving students inspired to incorporate the values of yoga into their daily routines for a healthier, happier life.
