LITERARY FEST - 2023 REMEMBERING THE BARD

Rajhans Vidyalaya hosted a magnificent literary fest, aptly titled "Remembering the Bard," from July 10 to July 12, 2023. The event celebrated the timeless works of William Shakespeare, showcasing the immense literary talent of students from various participating schools. The fest commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp, performed by esteemed dignitaries, including the academic advisor Mrs Deepshikha Shrivastava, Principal Mrs Kala Gangadharan, supervisor Mr Arun Awarsamol, coordinator Mr Ram Avatar, and the secondary section HOD English Mrs Priya Nair.
The literary fest witnessed active participation from three renowned schools: Rajhans Vidyalaya, Ashok Academy, and Vissanji Academy. Throughout the fest, a series of captivating competitions took place, highlighting the richness of Shakespearean literature. The "Be A Sonneteer" Competition engaged participants in crafting intricate sonnets, showcasing their prowess in Shakespearean poetry. A challenging Quiz on the Bard's Life And Works tested the participants' knowledge and understanding. Additionally, a Poetry Recitation Competition allowed students to bring Shakespeare's verses and sonnets to life, captivating the audience with their expressive renditions. One of the standout events was the Shakespearean Monologue Competition, where students delivered powerful soliloquies, showcasing their acting skills and deep comprehension of the bard's characters. Another creative competition involved Designing Concrete Or Shape Poems based on symbols and objects from Shakespeare's works, allowing students to visually express the essence of his literature. Additionally, participants demonstrated their artistic flair by Designing Posters inspired by themes from Shakespeare's works.
Distinguished littérateurs Penny Miranda, Valina D'Souza, Mahithi Pillay, S Govindharajan, and Deeba Faizan graced the fest as esteemed judges. Their expertise and keen eye for literary talent ensured fair and thorough evaluation of the participants' performances. At the conclusion of the fest, the judges were felicitated with heartfelt thanks, accompanied by thoughtful gifts and thank you cards.

To acknowledge the efforts and participation of all students, certificates of participation were presented to each participant, recognizing their dedication and enthusiasm. Furthermore, the top three winners in each competition were awarded certificates of excellence and coveted trophies, commemorating their outstanding achievements.
The literary fest reached its climax with a mesmerizing performance by senior secondary students, who brilliantly staged an adaptation of Shakespeare's iconic play, Macbeth. The captivating show enthralled the audience, leaving them in awe of the enduring power of Shakespeare's works.
