The Parents’ Orientation Programme for the Senior Secondary Section of Grade XII was conducted successfully on 28 March 2026 in the Art Room, with the objective of familiarising parents with the school’s policies, academic framework, and overall expectations for the academic year. The session commenced with a warm welcome and greetings extended to all parents.

The programme began with a detailed PowerPoint presentation by Ms. Shaila Prabhu, the Senior Secondary Coordinator. The presentation highlighted the school’s motto, vision, and mission, setting the tone for a purposeful academic journey. Parents were informed about the school timings and the importance of maintaining a minimum of 75% attendance. It was clearly stated that a medical certificate would be mandatory in case of absence due to health reasons. Guidelines regarding student dispersal were explained, emphasising that no early exits or half-days would be permitted.

The academic schedule was outlined, including remedial support provided after school hours until 2:40 p.m. Instructions related to uniform and grooming were also shared, stressing the need for students to maintain neatness and discipline, along with having two sets of uniform. For physical education and sports activities, students were required to wear school-approved track pants and house T-shirts.

Core values such as communicating in English, respecting teachers, maintaining discipline, and taking care of personal belongings as well as school property were reinforced. Parents were also briefed about homework expectations, including the timely completion of assignments and projects, maintaining academic honesty, and effective time management.

The second round of the presentation was conducted by Ms. Geetha Murudi, Senior Secondary Coordinator, who elaborated on communication protocols. Parents were informed that all communication would be conducted strictly through the MICM platform and not via WhatsApp. Any communication with the Principal, coordinators, supervisors, and teachers must be made through official email channels. The MICM login credentials would remain the same for both parents and students, and all fee payments must be processed through the MICM app under the Accounts section.

Attendance would be marked by class teachers by 9:00 a.m., and parents were requested to inform the teacher in case of absence. Worksheets, notices, holiday lists, year plans, and important messages would be uploaded on MICM. Additionally, the school calendar was highlighted as an essential daily communication tool between teachers and parents. Parents were also encouraged to attend PTMs regularly along with their child to track academic progress.

The grade-wise assessment structure was explained in detail, and parents were assured that examination portions, timetables, and notices would be shared well in advance on MICM. Co-scholastic activities such as Work Education, Art, General Studies, Physical Education, and skill development programmes were introduced as integral to holistic development.

Policies regarding Letters of Recommendation (LOR) were discussed, stating that they would be based on a student’s behaviour, academic performance, and participation in scholastic and co-scholastic activities.

Subject-wise project timelines were also communicated, and parents were advised to approach subject teachers for any queries.

Guidelines for birthday celebrations were shared, allowing students to come in casual attire while discouraging cakes or parties; instead, parents were encouraged to donate books to the library. Library rules, including book issue duration and access to sample question papers in soft copy, were also explained.

Parents were informed about the availability of counselling services and the safety measures in place, including complete campus surveillance. The school’s state-of-the-art sports facilities and the wide range of sports activities offered were also highlighted, along with the selection and participation process.

The importance of morning assembly and student participation in various activities such as news reading, storytelling, and singing was emphasised. The school’s vibrant calendar, featuring events like TED Talks, alumni meets, art fest, sports meet, and farewell, was also discussed. Students were encouraged to contribute to the school magazine, Euphoria.

Information regarding excursions, field trips, and educational visits was shared, including the overnight trip planned for Grade XII students. Various competitions such as Shape Poems, Blackout Poetry, Musical Odyssey, Planet Palette, Drop the Mic, and Shark Tank were introduced as platforms for nurturing students’ talents. Workshops conducted throughout the year and the school’s focus on academic excellence were also highlighted, celebrating subject toppers and overall achievers.

Guidance on board examination preparation was provided, encouraging students to seek support from teachers and remain consistent in their efforts. The session concluded with a vote of thanks to the parents for their patient participation.

The Principal, Mrs. Ritu Dubey, addressed the gathering, sharing valuable insights on student expectations, aspirations, and the importance of this crucial phase in their academic journey. She emphasised consistency, discipline, punctuality, and regular attendance, while acknowledging that each child is unique. She encouraged parents and the school to work collaboratively in nurturing responsible and confident individuals.

The programme concluded on a positive note, with best wishes for a successful and enriching academic year ahead.
