‘A child’s success is strongest when school and home walk the same path.’

The Parent Orientation Programme for Standards IX and X was successfully conducted on 30 March 2026 at Rajhans Vidyalaya, with active and enthusiastic participation from parents. The session aimed to familiarise parents with school policies, academic expectations, and the significance of Classes IX and X as crucial stages in a student’s academic journey, while strengthening the partnership between home and school.

The session commenced with a warm welcome, appreciating parents for their presence and continued support. An overview of the CBSE curriculum, aligned with competency-based and application-oriented learning, was presented, highlighting the importance of conceptual understanding, case-based learning, and skill development. The structure of the academic year, including two terms with Internal Assessments and Written Examinations, was explained. For Class X, additional emphasis was laid on board examination readiness through preliminary examinations and full syllabus coverage.

Key school guidelines were discussed, including attendance requirements, punctuality, discipline, and expected student behaviour. Parents were informed about leave protocols, the importance of maintaining a minimum attendance, and adherence to uniform and grooming standards. The prohibition of electronic devices and the need for timely submission of assignments, portfolio maintenance, and proper bag management were also emphasised.

The importance of effective communication between school and parents was highlighted through regular checking of the school diary, monitoring the MICM app for updates, and attending Open House meetings. Parents were encouraged to maintain regular communication through official channels to stay informed about their child’s progress.

The curriculum structure, including core and graded subjects, was explained along with the continuous assessment components such as Periodic Tests, Multiple Assessments, Portfolio work, and Subject Enrichment activities. Scholarship opportunities for academic excellence and sports achievements were also shared to motivate students.

Co-scholastic development was given equal importance, with a focus on Art, Music, Physical Education, and sports participation. Various opportunities for holistic growth through performing arts, competitions, educational field trips, and school events were highlighted. Language development initiatives, including interactive learning methods, public speaking opportunities, reading habits, and listening skills, were also emphasised.

Parents were guided on supporting their children through consistent study habits, regular revision, time management, and practice of sample papers, especially for Class X. Subject-specific expectations were outlined to provide clarity on academic requirements.

The Principal, Mrs. Ritu Dubey, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of these formative years in shaping students’ future. She emphasised discipline, consistency, and independence, encouraging parents to gradually allow their children to take responsibility for their learning. She also reinforced the importance of strong collaboration between home and school in ensuring the overall development and success of students.

The programme concluded on a positive note, with parents gaining a clear understanding of the academic framework, expectations, and their role in supporting their child’s growth throughout the academic year.
