On August 4th, 2023, a session on Hardware was organized by Mr. Kiran Tambe, a hardware technician, for the students of Std. XI. During the session, Mr. Tambe explained the components of the Central Processing Unit (CPU) cabinet. He skillfully disassembled and reassembled the parts in a systematic order to illustrate their functioning.
Throughout the session, he discussed the distinctions between assembled and designed desktop computers, delving into the various components of the CPU with a primary emphasis on the motherboard. This essential component was explained to comprise Read-Only Memory (ROM), Random Access Memory (RAM), a processor thermal patch, a 230V power supply, a Graphic/LAN card, and various resistors.
Moreover, Mr. Tambe highlighted the significance of proper cooling in preventing chip overheating and subsequent damage. He emphasized the crucial role of the CPU fan in achieving this purpose. Demonstrating the practical application of his insights, he meticulously attached the components to their respective locations using screws. The assembly sequence included the power supply, followed by the motherboard, hard disk, and data cables.
The session concluded with an engaging question and answer segment, allowing students to address any uncertainties they may have had. Overall, the session proved to be informative and interactive, enhancing the participants' understanding of CPU components and their functioning.
