AN INTERACTIVE SESSION ON THE ROLE OF SEBI AND INVESTOR AWARENESS- 24 OCTOBER 2024

An interactive session on the Role of SEBI and Investor Awareness, was organized for grade XI and XII Commerce on 24th October, 2024 at Rajhans Vidyalaya, as a part of their CBSE curriculum under Business Studies. Mr. Mahesh Khandare, the speaker of the session, was introduced by Miss Aastha Ketan, a student of grade XII. The session started with the speaker questioning the students about financial literacy. After which, he stated the importance of savings and investments for an individual as well as for a country’s economy. The speaker discussed a variety of financial products. He encouraged the students to start their investment journey from their early years by giving the example of Warren Buffett. He also demonstrated the historical returns investors have received over the years to further motivate them. The speaker showcased a few of the recent scams that have taken place on the online apps offering financial products, and advised students to choose a SEBI registered intermediary for investing in the securities market. The speaker also gave inputs on the Saarthi app developed by SEBI, which is an investor's awareness app. The session was concluded with a Q&A session which provided the students an opportunity to get their doubts cleared. The session ended with the senior secondary coordinator felicitating the speaker with a token of gratitude and a formal vote of thanks by Miss Ishwari Shetty, a XII grade student. Overall, it was an informative session and a meaningful learning experience which proved to be a productive investment of time.
