CAREER GUIDANCE WORKSHOP-24 JULY 2025

On 24th July 2025, Rajhans Vidyalaya hosted a “Career Guidance Workshop for XI & XII” conducted by Drishti, the school councillor team from 8:00 am to 9:15 am in school premises for Rajhans Vidyalaya parents and students. The objective of the session was to offer structured career guidance, enabling individuals to make well-informed professional decisions.
The workshop was led by Ms. Purnima Pandit, Head of the School Counselling Department at Drishti. With a Master’s in Clinical Psychology and over 12 years of experience in mental health and school counselling, she has guided numerous students, parents, and educators. Her expertise and empathetic approach made the session insightful and engaging for all attendees.
The session began by introducing the traditional academic streams — Science, Commerce, and Humanities — along with the conventional career options associated with each. For Science, she discussed career paths such as Engineering, Medicine, B.Pharm, and Biotechnology. Under Commerce, she highlighted Chartered Accountancy (CA), Company Secretary (CS), and careers in Banking and Finance. In the Humanities stream, she mentioned options like Civil Services, Psychology, Teaching and Law. She then expanded the discussion to include emerging and dynamic career fields such as Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mass Media, Journalism, as well as new-age roles in Accounts, Business, Freelancing, and Entrepreneurship. This holistic approach helped students gain insight into a wide spectrum of both traditional and modern career opportunities. In addition to career options, Ms. Purnima Pandit provided valuable insights into key entrance examinations required for various fields. These included JEE, NEET, CUET, CLAT, NID, NIFT, NATA, IPMAT, CA Foundation, CS Foundation, DU JAT, SET, NPAT, and UPSC. Her session offered a clear overview of traditional and emerging career paths, along with the academic routes needed to pursue them, enabling students to make informed and confident decisions about their future. An important part of the session was debunking the myth of "safe vs risky" career choices, encouraging students and parents to rethink conventional mind-sets and consider vocational and skill-based careers as equally rewarding paths. Emphasized that a good career choice rests on three fundamental pillars:
- Interest
- Aptitude
Personality
These factors must align to ensure a fulfilling and successful career journey.
The workshop offered valuable clarity to students and parents on various academic streams, career options, and relevant entrance examinations. It emphasized the importance of aligning one’s interests, aptitude, and personality to make informed and meaningful career choices. The session also expanded awareness of emerging fields and unconventional career paths, encouraging participants to think beyond traditional options. Numerous queries were addressed thoughtfully and effectively, leaving students and parents better informed, more confident, and better equipped to plan their academic and professional futures.
