INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY- 19 JUNE 2026
About This Activity
PRIMARY SECTION
The Primary Section had geared up ten days before to celebrate International Yoga Day. The students had been rehearsing the song “Yoga Karo, Yoga Karo” each day after the morning prayers along with ‘Alom Vilom’ and Utkatasana. A Yoga Wall was created in the Primary Section with a unique and engaging activity to showcase the spirit of health, harmony, and togetherness.
Sarita Teacher and Janhavi Teacher created the wall by sticking pictures of students performing yoga at home with their family members. They captured these memorable moments in photographs and submitted them to the school. The photographs were carefully displayed on the beautifully decorated Yoga Wall, creating a vibrant collage of families united through yoga.
The colourful display of photographs reflected the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants and spread the message that yoga is not just an exercise but a way of life that promotes physical fitness, mental well-being, and inner peace.
“A family that practices yoga together grows healthier and happier together.”
On the 19th of June, all students of the Primary Section celebrated International Yoga Day during the morning assembly. They sang the yoga song together with the music teacher. Sarita Teacher then gave a brief introduction highlighting the significance of International Yoga Day and the benefits of incorporating yoga into our daily lives. She laid emphasis on how our respected Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has played a significant role in promoting yoga globally.
The students then performed various asanas that they had been practising for a week. The primary teachers then performed Pair Yoga along with student partners. This activity made the yoga asanas even more interesting and enjoyable.
The students learned the benefits of yoga in maintaining physical fitness, mental well-being, and emotional balance. The atmosphere was filled with positivity, good energy, and a sense of unity. The event proved to be an enriching and rejuvenating experience for everyone and successfully conveyed the message that yoga is a way of life that promotes harmony, health, and happiness.
