Scout & Guide

 About
The Scout and Guide movement is an important co-curricular activity in schools that focuses on the all-round development of students. It is part of a global movement founded by Robert Baden-Powell, aimed at building character, discipline, and leadership among young people. In schools, Scouts (boys) and Guides (girls) are trained in various life skills such as teamwork, first aid, camping, and community service. Activities often include outdoor camps, flag ceremonies, knot-tying, and social service programmes such as cleanliness drives and helping the needy. These activities promote self-reliance, responsibility, and respect for nature. The movement also encourages values like honesty, loyalty, and service to others. Students take a pledge to follow the Scout/Guide Law, which guides their behaviour in daily life. Regular drills and group tasks help develop physical fitness and cooperation.
