GRADE 10 FIRST DAY - 1 APRIL, 2026
About This Activity
New Year, New Horizons: Reach for the Stars
To set a positive and focused tone for the new academic session, the students of Grade X participated in a series of reflective and creative activities. These sessions were thoughtfully designed to help students navigate the pressures of their Board year with confidence and a balanced mindset.
“Letter to My Future Self” (A Time Capsule)
The day began with an engaging self-reflection activity. Students wrote letters to their “future selves,” expressing their current emotions, academic goals, and personal aspirations. By articulating their “Promises to Myself” and envisioning life “After the Board Examinations,” students created a clear mental roadmap for the months ahead.
The letters were sealed and placed in the safe custody of the Class Teacher, to be returned to the students after their Board Examinations. This activity enabled students to express their intentions while serving as a meaningful reminder that their present efforts shape their future success.
Self-Affirmation Cards (The Power of “I Am”)
Recognizing the importance of mental resilience, students created personalized Self-Affirmation Cards. Each student selected powerful and positive statements such as “I am capable of handling challenges” and “I am consistent and focused” to help counter academic stress.
These cards act as visual tools for self-motivation, encouraging students to maintain confidence, positivity, and determination throughout the academic year.
Personalized Bookmarks (A Companion for Learning)
The final activity involved designing Personalized Bookmarks. Students decorated them with meaningful quotes, creative motifs, and subject-specific reminders.
Beyond being a creative exercise, these bookmarks symbolize the students’ commitment to their studies. Each time they open their textbooks, the bookmark serves as a gentle and artistic reminder of their dedication and goals set on the first day.
