INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION REPORT - 15 AUGUST 2024
"Freedom is never dear at any price. It is the breath of life. What would a man not pay for living?" - Mahatma Gandhi
On the auspicious occasion of India's 78th Independence Day, Rajhans Vidyalaya resonated with patriotic fervor and cultural splendor as students, teachers, and esteemed guests gathered to commemorate the spirit of freedom. The celebrations commenced at 8:00 am under the expansive canopy of the school grounds, adorned with the fluttering tricolour and resonant echoes of national pride.
The program began with the arrival of the Chief Guest, Mrs. Ritu Dubey, Principal of Rajhans Vidyalaya, who was warmly welcomed by Vice Principal, Mrs. Usha Unnikrishnan, and the attending dignitaries—Major Abhishek Singh, HR Manager and Bursar, and Mr. Madhukar Khot, Assistant Admin Officer. The event was also graced by the presence of supervisors, coordinators, teachers, and dear students, whose collective spirit made the occasion truly memorable.
Following the dignitaries' arrival, the National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, accompanied by the entire assembly singing the national anthem, "Jana Gana Mana," with pride and reverence.
The cultural program began with a soulful rendition of "Bharat Desh Tum Mahaan Ho" by the primary section students, celebrating the greatness of our nation. This was followed by a vibrant dance performance by the secondary section students, beautifully illustrating the profound Sanskrit phrase "Janani Janmabhoomi Swargadapi Gariyasi," which speaks to the deep connection between one’s motherland and its people.
In his opening address, Vedant Desai, one of the student comperes, evoked the sacrifices of India's freedom fighters, emphasizing the enduring values of courage and unity symbolized by the tricolour. His co-host, Harshvardhan Talathi, followed with poignant verses celebrating India's rich heritage and the spirit of nationalism.
