GRADE 11 PARENT'S ORIENTATION PROGRAMME - 31 MARCH 2026

The Parents’ Orientation Programme for Grade XI was successfully conducted on 31 March 2026 in the Art Room. The session commenced with a warm and cordial welcome extended to all parents, setting a positive and collaborative tone for the academic year ahead.
The programme began with a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation by Mrs. Shaila Prabhu, Senior Secondary Coordinator, who provided an insightful overview of the school’s ethos, functioning, and expectations. The presentation highlighted the institution’s motto, vision, and mission, reinforcing its commitment to academic excellence and holistic development.
Key guidelines regarding school timings and attendance were discussed, with emphasis on the mandatory 75% attendance requirement. Parents were informed about the necessity of submitting medical certificates in case of illness and adhering to quarantine protocols for contagious diseases. Parents were also informed to choose the elective subject, and if any changes were required, they must finalise their decision by 30 June 2026.
Important administrative norms were clearly outlined, including strict dispersal procedures, with no provision for early departures or half-days. The designated pick-up time of 1:50 p.m. was reiterated, and parents were requested to maintain discipline in parking to ensure smooth dispersal. The significance of the school calendar as a vital source of information was also emphasised.
Special attention was given to students transitioning from different educational boards. Parents were assured of a well-structured Bridge Programme designed to facilitate a seamless academic transition into the CBSE curriculum, which is known for its national standardisation and strong foundation for competitive examinations.
Academic expectations were elaborated in detail, including the yearly academic plan and the provision of remedial support after school hours until 2:40 p.m. The school’s experienced and dedicated faculty were highlighted as a strong pillar in guiding and mentoring students. Clear instructions regarding uniform and grooming were shared, including the requirement of two sets of uniforms and house T-shirts. Existing students would continue with their assigned houses, while new students would be allotted houses by their respective class teachers. Parents were informed that adherence to these guidelines is essential for maintaining uniformity and discipline.
The school’s discipline policy was strongly reinforced, encouraging students to communicate in English, respect peers and teachers, avoid bullying, maintain decorum during transitions, and take responsibility for school property.
The session was further continued by Mrs. Geetha Murudi, Senior Secondary Coordinator, who elaborated on communication protocols. Parents were instructed to use only the MICM app for all official communication, strictly avoiding WhatsApp. The app’s features—including attendance tracking, study materials, homework updates, fee payments, and circulars—were demonstrated, and parents were encouraged to monitor it regularly.
She also provided a detailed overview of the academic streams: Science (Groups A, B, C), Commerce (Group D), and Humanities (Group E). Parents were informed that subject changes could be made until 30 June 2026; however, they were advised to make thoughtful decisions considering the academic workload. Students were encouraged to consult subject teachers until 30 April to make informed choices. The comprehensive assessment structure—comprising Unit Tests, Internal Assessments, Practical and Theory Examinations, and Final Exams—was explained, along with project submission guidelines and evaluation criteria.
Guidelines regarding Letters of Recommendation (LOR) were also discussed, highlighting that these would be based on a student’s academic performance, behaviour, and co-scholastic involvement.
Various aspects of school life, including birthday celebrations (with certain restrictions), library usage, mess facilities (with a newly introduced balanced menu), counselling services, and campus surveillance systems, were explained to ensure student safety and well-being. Parents were encouraged to motivate students to utilise the mess facilities and develop healthy eating habits.
The session also highlighted co-curricular and sports participation as integral components of student development. Guidelines regarding appropriate attire for physical activities, grooming standards, and active participation were shared. A wide range of competitions and activities—such as Shape Poems, Blackout Poetry, Musical Odyssey, Planet Palette, Drop the Mic, and Shark Tank—were showcased, emphasising the school’s commitment to nurturing creativity and talent. Numerous events, celebrations, workshops, university fairs, and career guidance sessions conducted throughout the year were also discussed.
The school’s emphasis on holistic development was further reflected through initiatives such as morning assemblies (conducted in classrooms during the monsoon), TED Talks (mandatory participation from Grades I to XII), alumni interactions, art festivals, sports meets, farewell ceremonies, and various student-led activities. The school magazine Euphoria was highlighted as a vibrant platform for student expression, with opportunities for Grade XI students to be part of the editorial team through a structured selection process.
Scholarship opportunities were also discussed in detail. Students securing 95% and above are eligible for a 20% tuition fee waiver, while sports achievers at the gold, silver, or bronze levels may avail a 30% tuition fee waiver. Academic excellence was celebrated through the recognition of stream toppers and subject toppers. A special mention was made of Ms. Atulya Bothra of Grade XII for her commendable achievement in CLAT, serving as an inspiration for students to balance academics with competitive exam preparation.
The Principal, Mrs. Ritu Dubey, then addressed the gathering with an inspiring message. She emphasised the importance of consistency, discipline, and effective time management, especially as students transition into young adulthood. She highlighted that habits formed at this stage have a lasting impact and encouraged the development of essential life skills. She reiterated the importance of attendance and collaborative efforts between parents and the school for the holistic growth of students. She also explained the rationale behind commencing the academic session in April—to bridge learning gaps and ensure preparedness.
The Principal advised parents to make well-informed decisions regarding subject selection, noting that frequent changes may lead to academic gaps. She encouraged students to actively participate in all school activities, as both academic and co-scholastic achievements contribute significantly to overall development and future recommendations.
The session concluded with an interactive Question and Answer segment, where parents’ queries regarding transportation, uniforms, academics, sports facilities, food arrangements, and subject choices were addressed satisfactorily.
The programme concluded on a positive note, expressing sincere appreciation to the parents for their enthusiastic participation and continued cooperation. The school looks forward to a productive partnership in nurturing confident, responsible, and well-rounded individuals and wishes all Grade XI students a successful and enriching academic year ahead.
