SADAK SURAKSHA ABHIYAN -6 JANUARY 2025

Our students of Grade XI received an amazing opportunity to participate in Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan, an initiative organized by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, for creating awareness about road safety. This event was titled "Suraksha Reloaded" which was held on January 6, 2025, at the Jio Convention Centre, BKC, Mumbai, Maharashtra from 10 am. As part of the Sadak Suraksha Abhiyan Campaign, the Hon'ble Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, also interacted with the students during this event. This event also featured the popular Indian singer and composer Mr. Shankar Mahadevan.
The event started with Mr. Anand Narasimhan, a renowned journalist, who welcomed the chief guests, and the audience to the event. Mr. Narasimhan also introduced his co-anchors, Aayush Kalra and Prakriti Kalra, popularly known as Aayu and Pihu, the dynamic young YouTubers at the Suraksha Reloaded concert. After this, a musical show was performed by The Shillong Choir. Then a drama was enacted to emphasize on the importance of traffic rules by The Chubli Theatre Company. Their relatable play depicted road safety stories and humorous dialogues which caught the attention of the students. This was followed by a speech from the Union Minister, Mr. Nitin Gadkari, who reaffirmed the government’s dedication and commitment to making Indian roads safer. He also interacted one-on-one with the students. Special performances by Shankar Mahadevan and the Shillong Chamber Choir brought together various artists creating an impact of the larger theme of being vigilant and ensuring one’s own and others’ safety on our roads through their apt musical compositions. Later on, the three anchors, with their signature humour and interactive quizzes, successfully captivated the youth. The event ended with a special Shapath ceremony taken through a musical anthem, composed by Mr. Shankar Mahadevan, inspiring young attendees to pledge their commitment to becoming road safety champions.
Sadak Surakshya Abhiyan successfully created an engaging platform for the youth to connect and understand the importance of road safety and the consequences of negligence, and focused on the theme
‘Parwah Karenge, Surakshit Rahenge’.
