As part of Rajhans Vidyalaya's commitment to continuous professional development and excellence in teaching, a comprehensive workshop on "Blueprint for Belonging" was organised by Drishti Counselling Centre for the teaching staff on 25th July 2026 in the Art Room.

The workshop was attended by the Principal, Vice Principal, Supervisors, Coordinators, and all the teachers. The session was conducted by Ms. Pratiksha Dixit, Senior Psychologist and Arts-Based Therapist, who heads the Outreach Services at Drishti Counselling Centre. With extensive experience working with children, adolescents, parents, educators, and school communities, she has been actively involved in school counselling programmes and mental health initiatives that promote emotional well-being, child safety, positive relationships, and supportive learning environments.

Ms. Dixit began the session with an engaging ice-breaker activity, asking teachers to reflect on their own school experiences by answering questions such as whether they had ever bunked a class, sat on the last bench, or liked a subject because of a teacher. The activity created a relaxed and cheerful atmosphere while encouraging teachers to reconnect with the student perspective.

The workshop focused on the importance of effective classroom management and explored the 3 Cs of classroom management, with teachers contributing ideas such as communication, connection, and creativity. Ms. Dixit discussed the challenges teachers face in maintaining discipline and shared practical strategies to keep students focused, engaged, and motivated while balancing diverse learning needs. She emphasised the importance of classroom etiquette, collaborative partnerships with parents and co-teachers, and creating an inclusive learning environment.

A key takeaway from the session was the idea that "Misbehaviour is a form of communication." Teachers were encouraged to observe and understand the underlying psychological, environmental, and biological factors influencing student behaviour. The interactive discussions provided valuable insights into responding with empathy and sensitivity.

The workshop also highlighted the professional responsibilities of teachers, including being positive role models, respecting every learner, promoting inclusion and equity, ensuring students' safety and well-being, maintaining confidentiality, and teaching with empathy and integrity.

An important segment of the session focused on teacher well-being and burnout. Ms. Dixit explained that burnout results from prolonged workplace stress and discussed its psychological, cognitive, physical, and behavioural warning signs. She introduced mindfulness as an effective tool for managing stress and improving overall well-being. Teachers were guided through practical mindfulness techniques such as mindful breathing, meditation, body scanning, positive visualisation, and gratitude practices that can be incorporated into daily life.

The session concluded with a three-minute breathing exercise designed to help teachers increase present-moment awareness during stressful situations. The Principal appreciated the insightful session and encouraged every teacher to dedicate at least five minutes each day to self-care and mindfulness, emphasising that a mentally healthy teacher creates a positive and nurturing classroom environment.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Hunbano Khan, expressing gratitude to Drishti Counselling Centre and Ms. Pratiksha Dixit for conducting an enriching and meaningful workshop.

The "Blueprint for Belonging" workshop equipped teachers with practical classroom management strategies while reinforcing the importance of empathy, inclusivity, mindfulness, and emotional well-being. The knowledge and skills gained through the session will help foster positive classroom environments that support the holistic growth of every learner and strengthen excellence in teaching and learning.
